PMI West Texas is a component of the Project Management Institute. Born out of a desire to promote a more established and local support network for the many project management professionals in the area, the West Texas Chapter is headquartered right in the heart of West Texas and serves an expansive area. This service area, which includes project management professionals in the manufacturing, agricultural, construction, petroleum, financial, education, government, and healthcare industries, covers the following forty counties in West Texas:

  Abilene Andrews Bailey Borden
  Cochran Coke Cottle Crosby
  Dawson Dickens Ector Fisher
  Floyd Gaines Garza Glasscock
  Hale Haskell Hockley Howard

In addition to the monthly meetings, the West Texas Chapter has a rich schedule of programs, educational events, and networking opportunities to deliver value to the project management community in the service area. In the works are presentations on the PMBOK Guide (5th edition), project management best practices, PDU prospects you might not have considered, and special guest speakers from the various industries we serve. Our past speakers have included PMI executives, as well as, project management professionals from the private industry, education, and state government. There is definitely something for everyone!

The West Texas Chapter is also working to partner with other PMI components in Texas to bring more educational opportunities to the local area to meet all your training needs.

One of the hallmarks of PMI West Texas is our focus on student needs. We have developed several programs and activities aimed specifically at the student population in our service area, including internships and practical training opportunities. These programs and activities are created to help our student constituents enhance their Project Management skills, knowledge, and experience.

PMI West Texas cultivates an atmosphere of knowledge-sharing and fellowship. Our goal is to organize a group of like-minded individuals who express a desire to improve the practice of Project Management, create advocates for PMI methodology adoption and execution, and to facilitate innovative thinking and ideas.

The PMI West Texas Chapter invites all local and regional individuals who practice Project Management or are interested in a career in Project Management or have the need for Project Management in their line of work to attend one of our monthly meetings. Come see what we can offer you.
